Adidas King Of The Road 16.8KM Marathon!

Had a good run and exercise, burnt alot of calories, and most importantly feeling a total sense of Achievement! My last Sundown marathon I completed a 10km, and so this time I challenged myself to complete a further distance! Signed up for the 16.8km Adidas King Of The Road Marathon with my 2 other buddies and I'm glad we did this together! =) Looking forward to my next run in December!! Stanchart Half Marathon, 21km!!

Meanwhile will let my photos do the talking! :)

and last but not least, the weather is soooooo hot, i came back with yet another sunburnt! My skin tone is super uneven right now!! omigosh~ The sun was literally kidding me softly~

Would you queue 2 hours for food?

Recently after my jog, went with my friend to have our lunch nearby where we were, and that happened to be at Lavender. My friend recommended a Pork noodles which was supposedly the Best in Singapore or so they claim. Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodles.

When we reach the place, it was situated at a coffee shop and among all the other stall, the queue for this was significantly long. I hesitated queuing but decided to give it a try since its suppose to be the best. Judging from the queue, in a normal circumstances in other stalls, it should take about half an hour to at most an hour.

Typically, most of my friends and family should know, I'm not one who would queue for food or for anything at all for the that matter. Anything more than 5 people in line, would be considered long for me. I will not wait more than 15mins! I'm the type who would go for the shortest queue nearest to wherever I'm seating. That's me. So my answer to my title, would obviously be a NO!

But decided to make this an exception after hearing the review and recommendations. And so we joined the queue, got ourselves a drink and chatted while waiting. Minutes pass, half an hour pass, and by 45mins, my can of coke was already gone. and guess what, the queue hardly moved, we were only merely 1/2 there. By then I've lost my patience, and my feet were already screaming out for a rest. And so I left the queue and went to look for a seat while my friend continued in line.

By 1 and a half hours, my stomach were already growling badly, and to make it worse, my iPhone died on me, and I had absolutely nothing to do but just stare at the queue and wait. When the food FINALLY came, I'm sure we waited for 2 hours just to have our lunch. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!

And from what I observed, there were even people from Malaysia who came in to Singapore specially to eat it! Honestly, half an hour is already long enough, but 2 freaking hours?! Omg! It may be their tactic to make people queuing hungry from the long wait, so when they finally get to eat, any food that goes in to fill their tummy would taste good anyway. But that certainly didn't work for me. The long wait made me lost my appetite and obviously my patience.

And by now, I guess most of you would be wondering, "so was the queue worth it? is the food really good?"
My answer to that. NO! So NOT worth it! OMG! I cant believe I waited 2 hours just for this. I guess some other pork noodles from some random places probably tasted better.

But then again. This is just my review. To each its own. My friend on the other hand felt the wait was worth and that its the best in Singapore. So I guess, judge it for yourself, just my 2 cents worth of warning though!!

Anyway just for your info, here is a short description of their business.

Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodles serve bak chor mee whose noodles are very firm to the bite, topped with supremely tender and fresh pork mince, pork and liver slices.

Halloween Horror Nights 2 @ USS

Havent been attending any Halloween events for the past years, and so this year, since my friend asked me along, I decided why not! Since we're all still, well, considered pretty young, we should go all out to have fun! :)

And so we decided on going to the Halloween Horror Nights 2 events at Universal Studio Singapore! :)

It was a fun filled night yesterday, went with 5 other friends, of which 2 of them I just got to know that day, they were my friend's friend. But I'm glad we went in a bigger group as it was way more fun this way! As the saying goes, the more the merrier! :) Along the way, bumped into many friends whom I've not seen in ages! Overall I would say it was worth going!!

Thank goodness we went on a Sunday, heard the Saturday crowd was quite bad and it rained! Lucky us! Queue weren't as long and no rain! Wish they could extend the time longer though! Felt that the time from 8pm-12mn was quite short!

Attraction Rating: 9/10
Scary Actors, Costumes and Make up: 10/10
Scary Rating: 8/10
Fun Rating: 10/10

Five scare zones and three haunted houses. The bizarre terror of The Puppet Master as he brings together the sinister Doctor Dementia, The Undertaker and The High Priest, Doll Houses, etc.

Anyway here are the highlights and attractions for the event!

  • Destination 1: Dungeon of Damnation (entrance beside Monster Rock Theater) – this the MUST GO and the best haunted house among the three.
  • Proceed to Sci-Fi City via New York Street – experience the Total Lockdown on New York Street, followed by highly recommended but optional ride on Battlestar Galactica Cyclon if the queue is not too long. It is a whole new experience to ride Cyclon at night.
  • Destination 2: Insanitarium  (at Waterworld) – Make a quick pass through Ancient Egypt as there’s nothing very happening there. Drink something before Insanitarium as it is going to be warm in this enclosed outdoor haunted house.
  • Destination 3: Lost World - Ride the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure as the ambiance is so much more realistic at night compared to a day ride. Look for a locker, be prepared to get WET.
  • Proceed back to Ancient Egypt – Time to rest and buy some snacks and drinks from Ancient Egypt and now you can spend. a while exploring Bizarre Bazaar at Ancient Egypt.
  • Destination 4: Death Alley – This haunted house is actually optional, proceed only if you have extra time.
  • Proceed to Total Lockdown or House of Dolls –  As you slowly stroll out of the park. This is actually one of the best time to take pictures as it will be less crowded now and the scare actors roaming the streets will remain on the streets till the park is empty.

I'm BACK to blog!!

Dear all lovely readers!!

Thanks for the continual support even to date! I haven't been updating since June this year, But my traffic is still pretty much constant throughout this time! Thanks very much! :) I didn't forget about you guys, and I certainly didn't forget about my blog. I just couldn't find the time to sit down to blog and upload my photos!!

I have tons of stuff to update!

- Taiwan Trip back in April
- My 25th Birthday
- Korea Trip in September
- Some major decisions which I've made in my life
- and as always many nice yummy places I went to, and places I visited

I will try to fill it up soonest!!

Lately due to the major decision which I made (I will update here soon, once everything has happened for sure. For now I will keep you guys in suspense for a little while longer), I'm busy mugging and studying again for exams!! Some of you may be able to guess it, some of my close friends may already know it, and for those who don't  just to let you know, I'm not back into studying again. No time or money to take up my Masters yet! May in future, will see how it goes!

Anyway, hope all of you are doing well, getting on well in life, and living life to its very fullest!! If not, I do hope you would soon! Life is so unpredictable. A secondary friend of mine just passed on recently, was so shock and upset by the news that I was totally lost for words and drenched in tears. How fragile life is. He was a very nice guy who had good prospects and a good future ahead. But I trust that God had better plans for him and brought him to a better place. Rest in peace my dear friend...

Word of advice to all, Ignore those that are unworthy, treasure those who loves you, and live life to its fullest! =)

I'll be back to update again real soon!! Stay tuned!!

Elva Hsiao 蕭亞軒 - 錯的人

This song has been repeating nonstop on my playlist for at least 2 months... Very nice emo song.. :) Enjoy!

Elva Hsiao
